Product Design in Ukraine

The book PRODUCT DESIGN in Ukraine highlights the most professional and original items of furniture, lighting and decor made by Ukrainian designers, architects and studios. It should be noted that this is absolutely the first complete publication on product design in Ukraine. The book was created with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

Ukrainian product design goes beyond the name of “Ukrainian” and is already an international one; its distinctive features are aesthetics and quality, simplicity of form and use of natural materials; functionality usually comes first. Many interesting items are created based on Ukrainian cultural and craftmanship traditions and techniques.

Ukrainian cultural traditions are absolutely fascinating and are embedded by product designers in many unique objects. Such objects, with their exquisite aesthetics, specific regional flair and vibrant distinctive features, continue to attract attention in the global design community. When creating author’s objects, designers remain faithful to certain traditional handicraft techniques used in different regions of Ukraine. It is worth noting that many designers work with natural materials and colors, use recycled raw materials and are environmentally friendly. Many products created by Ukrainian designers are produced by top manufacturers such as Ligne Roset and Roche Bobois.
